Prima Kings Hotel Jerusalem: A Frum Guide to the City-Center Glatt Mehadrin Hotel
A frum traveler's guide to the Prima Kings Hotel on King George Street: its Glatt Mehadrin kitchen, its central location, its Shabbos setup, and how it compares to the Prima Palace.
Quick Answer
The Prima Kings is a mid-range four-star hotel on King George Street in the city center of Jerusalem, near the Great Synagogue. Its kitchen is certified Glatt Mehadrin under the Jerusalem Rabbinate, and it is set up for Shabbos with an in-house shul, a Shabbos elevator, mechanical Shabbos keys, and Shabbos meals. It is the most central of the Prima hotels and the most walkable of them to the Kotel, about a thirty to thirty-five minute walk.
If you like the idea of a mehadrin hotel but you want to be in the center of the city rather than up in the chareidi neighborhoods, the Prima Kings is the one to look at. It is the city-center sister to the Prima Palace, with a comparable Shabbos setup but a very different location. Here is the frum traveler's read.

At a glance: 60 King George St, in the city center. About a 30 to 35 minute walk to the Kotel. Find it on Google Maps.
The kashrus
The Prima Kings kitchen is certified Glatt Mehadrin under the Jerusalem Rabbinate. That is a solid mehadrin standard, the same level as its sister hotel for practical purposes, though the Prima Kings carries the Rabbinate's mehadrin certification rather than a Badatz. For most Orthodox families that is perfectly comfortable; if you specifically keep Badatz, this is the point to weigh, and to confirm the live certification with the hotel for your dates.
The two Prima hotels are easy to mix up. The Prima Palace is in Romema near Geula under Badatz Agudas Yisroel; the Prima Kings is in the city center under the Jerusalem Rabbinate's Glatt Mehadrin. Same group, different location and different hechsher. Pick by which matters more to you, the neighborhood or the specific hechsher.
The location: King George, in the heart of the city
The Prima Kings sits at 60 King George Street, in Rehavia at the edge of the city center, close to the Great Synagogue and Yeshurun and within easy reach of the King George and Ben Yehuda area with all of its kosher food and life. For a family that wants to be central, able to walk to a lot, and near major shuls, this is an excellent spot. It is also the most walkable of the Prima hotels to the Old City, roughly a thirty to thirty-five minute walk to the Kotel, which is doable for many on Shabbos though still a real distance.
Shabbos at the Prima Kings
The hotel is properly set up for Shabbos:
- An in-house shul, active on Shabbos and Yom Tov.
- A Shabbos elevator.
- Mechanical Shabbos keys at the front desk.
- Shabbos meals served, with candle-lighting in a designated lobby area.

Who the Prima Kings suits
It is a strong fit for a frum family that wants a mehadrin hotel in a central, walkable location near the Great Synagogue, rather than up in the chareidi neighborhoods, and who is comfortable with the Jerusalem Rabbinate's Glatt Mehadrin standard. It is a comfortable mid-range four-star hotel, with couple rates that have run from roughly the mid-hundreds of shekels a night depending on season.
If you specifically keep Badatz, look at the Prima Palace or the Badatz options on the main list. If walking to the Kotel on Shabbos is the priority, see the hotels near the Kotel.
